Born in Albany on September 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Sally (Stever) Groves.
She was a 1960 graduate of Ichabod Crane High School and then a longtime teller for Albany Savings Bank. Subsequently, she then owned and operated Masse Farms with her husband, both in Rensselaer County and in Sharon Springs. Also, she was a longtime choir member of the United Methodist Church in Chatham.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Maurice Masse of Sharon Springs; two daughters, Nicole Amanatides and Jodi Dolezel, both of Sharon Springs; three sons, J.R. Masse of East Greenbush, Darin Masse of Averill Park and Richard Masse of Sharon Springs; three sisters, Sandra Amidon of Gansevoort, Sheila Dennis of Charlottesville, VA, and Sharon Groves of Hudson; five grandchildren, Darin Jr., Austin, Jacob, and Dylan Masse, and Matthew Amanatides; a great granddaughter, Macy Masse; and an uncle, Ira Stever of Niverville (Columbia County).
Burial is private.
