Adam's mother passed away when he was a young child and his father remarried Sylvia Durante Santavicca, who is also deceased.
Adam served his country during the Korean War in the Air Force. He retired home to work at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Coke Plant Division for 43½ years. Adam was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV, American Legion and VFW, Follansbee, WV, Loyal Order of the Moose, Weirton, WV, and the Garibaldi Club, Follansbee, WV.
In addition to his parents, Adam Sr., Margaret and Sylvia, Adam was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Durante.
Adam is survived his loving and devoted wife, two children, a son and a daughter; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren, a brother; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM with Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717, where funeral will commence on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV, with Father Thomas R. Gallagher, presiding.
Military Escort by the WV Patriot Guard, Interment will be held at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV with Military Honors by the United States Air Force and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
