Larry Aamodt, age 72 of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Baldwin Area Medical Center.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 15 from 4-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and at church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.
Burial will be in Gilman Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.

Larry was born February 3, 1943 to Raymond and Venita (Lansing) Aamodt in Baldwin. He attended Spring Valley Schools and graduated with the Class of 1961. After high school he attended Dunwoody Institute and studied to become a mechanic. After working a few years in the cities, he returned to his home farm in Gilman Township where he has lived ever since.
On June 17, 1989 Larry was married to Julie Stevens at Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. Larry farmed, operated Aamodt’s Archery, and worked as custodian at Spring Valley Schools retiring several years ago. Those who knew Larry enjoyed his sense of humor and numerous “projects” and “experiments.” He was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and flint knapping. He also had a passion for Native American culture. He was also musically talented and played with the Short Brothers for a number years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Julie of Spring Valley; son John Aamodt and grandson Matthew Aamodt of Spring Valley, parents-in-law Don and JoAnn Stevens, Spring Valley; sister-in-law Shelli (Tim) Wood of Spring Valley; sister-in-law Suzanne Duchane of River Falls; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Larry was on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. Visitation was on Friday, January 15 from 4-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Burial was in Gilman Lutheran Cemetery.
Honorary bearers were David Handrahan, Roger Lansing, Bob Holerud, Kent Nord, Mark Tamminga, Jeff Noe, Brian Joyner, Duane Werner and Dale Strom.
