Henry Warner. Committed by C. C. Bush Judge of Shasta County August 9th 1864. Age forty-seven; native of England; single; was last from New York; has been in this State since 1851; occupation before coming to this State, machinist - Since mining. Insanity first appeared about two or three weeks ago - was disposed to purchase useless and unnecessary clothing; and other articles - previous to this attack was honest - is now disposed to theft; this is the first attack; disease increasing; symptoms variable with apparently rational intervals. Derangement is now manifested by the extravagant expenditure of money and lack of truth in conversation - exaggeration of trifling matters - no permanent hallucination; there is present desire to destroy or threaten to destroy property - has threatened to shoot his partners; is not suicidal; is not filthy or destructive; has been intemperate for a number of years until within one year, since which he has been strictly temperate; has had an unusual appetite since the attack; has not been confined; cause of insanity unknown; treatment antiphlogistic (anti-inflammatory) without much effect. Admitted August 12th 1864. Has means. Died July 6th 1866 of General Paralysis.
