Roman Catholic Cardinal. The son of the patrician of Velletri and Piperno, Antonio Pellegrini was appointed cameriere d'onore in abito paonazzo at twenty years of age in 1832 and named referendary prelate on March 3, 1842. Relator of the Sacred Congregation of Good Government between 1843 and 1845, he acted as second assessor of the Tribunal of the Government from 1846 until 1847. Vice-legate in Velletri, he served as a voter of the Tribunal of the Apostolic Signature of Justice between 1851 and 1858 and prelate adjunct of the Sacred Congregation of the Tridentine Council from 1852 until 1877. Cleric of the Apostolic Chamber as of March 23, 1858 until 1877, he became ultimately its dean on June 16, 1868. Pope Pius IX created him cardinal deacon alongside Vincenzo Moretti, Archbishop of Ravenna, in the consistory of December 28, 1877 with the deaconry of Santa Mario in Aquiro. The Cardinal succumbed to pneumonia in his native city and was laid to rest at the local Campo Verano Cemetery following the celebration of a requiem mass at the Basilica of San Marco celebrated by Bishop Luigi Caracciolo di Castagneto which saw the participation of eleven cardinals. The final absolution was imparted by Cardinal Carlo Sacconi, bishop of Ostia and Velletri and dean of the Sacred College of Cardinals.
