Robert Kennedy emigrated from the North of Ireland, in company with his younger brother William, and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in 1730.
He died March 26 1776, in his eighty-third year. His wife died June 3 1773, aged 73. They are buried at the Stewart Burying Ground near Bunker Hill, Tinicum Township, Bucks County.
