Irv was an avid fisherman, hunter and part-time guide for his friends and family, often frequenting his cabin in Republic with Rhonda, his wife and best friend, and his parents.
Irv was the kindest, most gentle soul that the Lord ever created, always willing to help anyone at any time, but his family always came first. He would always tell you how proud he was of his daughter A.J. and her adventures in the Coast Guard, his son Lance - on how he was the best electrician and pump man on the planet, and his son D.J. and the man he had become, and how he never hesitated to help others.
Irv was the owner and operator of Castle Pump in Tieton, WA, a business he built from scratch and a lot of hard work. Irv was so much fun to be around and the party would start when he walked in the door, he was a big teddy bear always joking or telling a story.
Irv was taken from us too soon, but I think the Lord needed a good pump man and he certainly got the best.
Irv is survived by his wife and best friend Rhonda La Barr; his loving parents Erving and Barbara La Barr; his brother Robert and sister-in-law Lisa La Barr; daughter A.J. (Ashley) La Barr and Brittany; sons: Lance and wife Meghan La Barr, D.J. and wife Jessica Sluman; granddaughters: Tayler and Savanna, and grandsons: Riley and Ryder. Also, very close friends: Justin, Katie and Bella Swale, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; he was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Frank and Velma La Barr and Willard and Pearl Morris.
