Hung for the 8-3-1892 murder of prison foreman Frank Mackin while in prison. Story in The State Republican, Jefferson City, Mo., 5-10-1894. Story recites burial in the colored graveyard. In a final statement, Coleman revealed his true name as John Coleman and said he didn't know his true age but thought that he was hardly 40.
