Bright's father was Mark Burrell (10/22/1806 - 9/24/1878) whose final resting place is unknown, but believed by many to be on the river at Burrell's Ford.

Other daughters: Hulda Kansas (Cannie) married John Agusta Turpin and Amanda Maryland married John P. Wilson. Bright, Jr. was the son of the first wife along with Alburel Tinzley who apparently died as an infant.
