MRS. CARL W. ABRAHAM
Relatives and friends in this city received a message Friday night which stated that Mrs. Carl W. Abraham had passed away at the Glen Lake Sanatorium at Oak Terrace, near Minneapolis.
Mrs. Abraham had gone to that institution seven months ago for treatment for tuberculosis. She was getting along very nicely when it became necessary for her to submit to an operation for gall stone. Her recovery seemed satisfactory and two weeks later she returned to the sanatorium where she submitted to a minor operation. Since then her health failed and resulted in death Friday night at 10:30 o'clock. Mr. Abraham spent a week with his wife and was with her at her death.
Katherine Neuwirth was born in New Ulm May 11, 1892, and was just in the prime of life when stricken, being only 36 years old. She grew to womanhood here and was united in marriage with Carl W. Abraham at the Holy Trinity Church in this city November 15, 1910.
To this union four children were born, one son, James preceding the mother in death. Those who remain with their father to mourn her untimely passing are Hildegard, 16; Alice, 11, and Arnold one and one-half years. She is also mourned by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Neuwirth, Sr., two brothers, Henry and George, Jr., both of this city and three sisters: Mrs. Otto J. Schneider. Mrs. Roman Schmidt and Mrs. Arthur Heinen, all of New Ulm.
Funeral services were held from St. Mary's Church in this city Monday morning at 9 o'clock, and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery. The Altar Society and the New Ulm Arbeiterverein of which order the deceased was a member, attended the last rites.
