Obituary of Julia Schulz


Julia "Julie" Schulz, 71 (yrs. old), of 711 E. First Street, Merrill, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at the Community Health Care, Wausau Hospital.


The Schulz's were resort owners, operating Club Modern for 11 years, Merrill Quality Foods and the Gourmet Shop in Merrill. They were operators of the Lake Metonga Resort and Copper Country in Crandon, retiring in 1993.


Survivors include two sons, David (fiance, Judy Ferguson) Schulz, Heidelberg, Germany and Tom (Deborah) Schulz, Merrill; one brother, Paul (Velma) Moor, Kieler, Wis; one sister, Louise (John) Orin, Hardy, Ark.; and one half sister, Ella Stevenson, Merrill.


A private memorial service was held at St. Stephens, United Church of Christ in Merrill.


Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted with arrangements.

Julia Rose Moor was married on 3 May 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Herbert F. Schulz. "Herb" was Roy Schulz's brother. Roy was married to Julie's sister, "Tina". Thusly, two of the Moor daughters married two of the Schulz sons.

"I looked up Julie and it appears she was cremated but I don't show her ashes were buried."
