JACOB H. DERRY PIONEER, PASSES AWAY THIS A.M.
Funeral Wednesday Afternoon at U. B. Church in Elwood
Jacob H. Derry, age 77 years, 9 months and 8 days died at 5:40 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alice Groover, R. R. 3, Phillips Addition, of complications of old age. Mr. Derry was a pioneer resident of Madison county. He was born near Elwood and lived in this county all his life. His wife, Minerva, died two years ago this week.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the U. B. church at Elwood, Rev. John High in charge. Burial will be in the Elwood city cemetery. Deceased was a member of the U. B. church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. William Hite, of Alexandria; Mrs. Frank Antrum, of Gary; Mrs. Alice Groover, of Alexandria; Mrs. Julia Fidler, of Jonesville, Mich.; one son, R. M. Derry, of Elwood; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
