Robert Elden Sneed, 74, of Moodys, Oklahoma, was born November 24, 1941, in Eufaula, the son of Robert James Sneed and Delphia Derotha (Spears) Sneed. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Robert went to school at Jenks and Union then graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1960. He married Opal May Brothers in July of 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1962. They had 5 children, Carol Jeanne Sneed-Jalbert, Charles Edward Sneed, Catherine Leverne Sneed Keys-Israel, Calvin Robert Sneed, and Christopher A. Sneed.
Robert worked as a machinist and normally worked two jobs to care for his family. He retired frim McDonald Douglas and raised horses on his farm in Moodys. His love was for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his horses and his farm. He enjoyed watching sports and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball. Robert never met a stranger and was always telling stories and jokes.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James and Delphia Derotha Sneed; a brother Charles Daniel Sneed; and son in law, Warren Scott Keys.
He is survived by his sisters Darlene Blank and husband Buddy of Warner, Sara Butler of Tulsa, Mary Hillhouse and husband Bobby of Broken Arrow, and Oleta Hughes and husband Ronald of Broken Arrow; his children, Carol Jeanne Sneed-Jalbert and Kelley Williamson of Cassville, MO, Charles Edward Sneed and wife Joanna of Moodys, OK, Catherine Leverne Sneed Keys-Israel and husband Larry of Tahlequah, OK, Calvin Robert Sneed and wife Terri of Welling, OK, and Christopher A. Sneed and wife Joie of Fort Gibson, OK; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty five great grandchildren
