Mary Ellen was born on Saturday, August 5, 1944 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Robert and Delph Derotha (Spears) Sneed. Mary passed away in her home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 73.
Mary graduated from Broken Arrow High School with the class of 1963. She was employed with Murphy Switch where she worked in the construction of oil valves.
On March 21, 1964 Mary married the love of her life, Bobby Hillhouse, in Coweta, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with two children, Reba and Corrina. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them.
In her free time Mary enjoyed researching genealogy and working on her computer. She loved the outdoors and liked to go camping. For Mary, Saturday mornings were a favorite time to enjoy coffee with her sisters. Mary was active in her church, Porter Freewill Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her church family.
Mary is survived by, Husband, Bobby Hillhouse, Broken Arrow, OK, Children, Reba Helm and husband Mike, Broken Arrow, OK, Corrina Christmas and husband Donnie, Broken Arrow, OK, Grandchildren, Brandon Christmas, Shanda Christmas, Great Grandchildren, Emily Christmas, Kara Bratcher, Sisters, Sarah Cummings, Chouteau, OK, Darlene, Blank and husband Buddy, Eufaula, OK, Susan Hughes and husband Ronald, Sapulpa, OK, Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Robert Eldon Sneed and Charles Sneed.
Services will be 10am Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery.
