SPRINGFIELD - Elizabeth (Huncsik) Burrill, 93 of Springfield was called Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from Baystate Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA., on November 12, 1919 a beloved daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Ziman) Huncsik. She was raised and educated in Mt. Pleasant, PA., after graduating from High School she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she met her late husband Leonard who was in the United States Navy. Before Len was shipped out they married in July 1941 and spent sixty wonderful years together until his passing in 1999. Elizabeth moved to Lynn, MA., until Len was discharged from the service. In 1948 they moved and settled in Springfield, where she lived until her death. Elizabeth was employed as an Inspector for Buxton's and retired after twenty-seven years of service. Later she volunteered at the Chicopee Municipal Home and Williamansett West Nursing Home. Elizabeth loved the summers where she could spend the days out in the yard planting and caring for her flowers. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also predeceased by a sister Mary Jenkins and two brothers Joseph and John Huncsik. She is survived by her two devoted daughters Deborah A. Burrill of Chicopee and Carolyn J. Smialek and her husband Dr. Richard Smialek of Dublin, Ohio., and "daughter" Joan Valentino of Chicopee, three grandchildren Nicholas Smialek and his wife Kristin of Marietta, GA., Sarah Smilek of Orlando, FL., and Kathryn Smialek of Dublin, Ohio., and she leaves two great -grandchildren Kensley and Lila Smialek of Marietta, and her special friend John Duquette. Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10A.M. at Hillcrest Park Cemetery 895 Parker Street, Springfield.
