Musician, Composer. He performed under the name Chuck Rio and was the composer of the hit song "Tequila," for the Champs in 1958. The classic instrumental featured Flores' recognizable rusty saxophone line and his periodic growl of "Tequila!", the sole lyric. "Tequila!" went to No. 1 on the Billboard chart and won a Grammy in 1959 for best rhythm and blues performance. The song has been used in thousands of commercials, TV shows and the popular 1985 movie, "Pee Wee's Big Adventure." He continued to perform as "Chuck Rio and the Originals" on Ace and Challenge Records, and in live shows for the next 40 years.
