Jane C. Anderson, age 91, passed away at Scripps Memorial Hospital on January 13, 2016, due to complications of pneumonia.
She was born in Flint, Michigan on June 17, 1924 to Howard Clark and Wanita Buecking. Jane graduated from Flint High School in 1941 and started working as an usher at the local movie theater. It was there that she met her future husband, Robert E. Anderson. They had a three year courtship and during WWII, Robert got leave to come home and they were married in Flint, Michigan on July 3, 1944.As the wife of a Navy chaplain, she managed a fun and organized household (that included three sons) in duty stations that took them from Texas, to California, to Hawaii, to Virginia, to Massachusetts, to Connecticut, to Washington and finally ended up living in the San Diego, CA at the end of her husband's 32 year career.
After retirement, Jane and Robert spent 20 years in the sunny desert of Borrego Springs, CA, where they were both active volunteers in the community. In 2002, they moved to their final "duty station" at Fredericka Manor in Chula Vista, CA, where Jane loved to sit and reminisce with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Robert; three sons, Chris, David and Stephen; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held in Fellowship Hall at Fredericka Manor, 183 Third Ave., Chula Vista, CA on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a private ceremony in Borrego Springs, CA on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
