EMMA DILLMAN LONG, aged 51 years, wife of Lowell H. Long, prominent Dover Hill businessman, died at 2:45 o'clock Saturday morning at the family home in Dover Hill. Her death, due to complications, came after an illness of three years. Her condition had been serious during the past year.
Mrs. Long was born on September 17, 1882, at Trinity Springs and was the daughter of Melvin and Mary Carothers Dillman. Her entire life was spent in and around Trinity Springs and Dover Hill. She was married to Mr. Long on July 12, 1928. No Children were born of their union.
Mrs. Long was a member of the Church of Christ and was highly esteemed by her numerous friends and acquaintances. She received her education in the rural schools of this county and was a teacher in the township schools for a number of years.
Surviving besides the husband are three brothers, Edward and John Dillman, of Trinity Springs, and Thornton Dillman of Winfield, Kansas, and four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Porter, of Elnora, Mrs. Lulu Leach, of Bloomington, Mrs Io Crim, of Shoals, and Mrs. Clara Porter, of Williams, Ind.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Dover Hill, with Rev Voris Carpenter of Lyons officiating. Burial was made in the Trinity Springs cemetery.
