Mr. Richard Baldwin, father of Judge Joseph R. Baldwin, and a prominent resident of this city, died suddenly at his residence here yesterday of paralysis. He was born in New York in 1809, and began life as a civil engineer. At the age of 25 years, he started in business in Godwinville. For 25 years, he was engaged in making cotton machinery in Mexico. He leaves a wife and one son. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Duryea will preach the sermon, and the body will be interred at Cedar Lawn.
