Vergie Hyatt, 89 passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home. Services for Mrs. Hyatt will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 5, 2016 at The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Rev. Alan Ehlo officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Family will accept friends on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Broadway Funeral Directors.

Vergie was born February 28, 1927 in Oklahoma to Thomas & Bessie McNeely. She married Cliff C. Hyatt on May 15, 1947 in Clovis. She worked as a book keeper for her husband’s business (Just Rite Plumbing) for many years and retired as a home maker giving her time to spend with her sons and grandchildren who she loved dearly. She loved sewing and quilting in her spare time and was an avid outdoorsman making her visits to their lake house on Lake Kemp very enjoyable

She is survived by three sons, Darwin & Susie Hyatt of Tomball, Zachary Hyatt, Sherman Hyatt both of Lubbock; three sisters, Floy Woods of Sulphur Springs, Ruby Peterson of Lubbock, Irene Peel of McKinney; two granddaughters, Ashley Hyatt of Wichita Falls, Natalie Hyatt of Tomball.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cliff C. Hyatt (August 3, 1998)
