Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Sir John Eliot (early-17th-century great Patriot) and wife of Colonel Nathaniel Fiennes (second son of William Fiennes, 1st Viscount Saye and Sele, and later Speaker of Cromwell’s Parliament). Nearby Bromby Hall was bought for Nathaniel and Elizabeth (by his father), where she died in 1639. She was buried at St. Lawrence on 01 Apr 1639. Her husband, in his 1669 will, instructed his executors to take £10 and place a memorial in the church for his "first and dearly beloved wife".
