Mr. Barbee passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the age of 87. The son of Benjamin Franklin and Myrtle Davis Barbee was born January 16, 1918 in Haskell County, Oklahoma. He was one of thirteen children.

As a young man in rural Oklahoma Ballie worked the local farms. August 5, 1944 he married Evelyn Fidler , his true soul mate. Shortly after their marriage they moved briefly to California, where they worked in the cotton fields . After moving back to Oklahoma, living near Catoosa, Ballie worked for the city of Catoosa as water commissioner. Ballie then moved his family to Claremore in 1969. Bought a used furniture store and was known in many cases to give furniture away to help people in need. He was well known at the local auctions. He was also an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt, fish, and plant his garden. He was member of the Westside Holiness Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, grandsons, Jeremy and Adam Barbee, and parents Benjamin and Myrtle Barbee.

Survivors include his children; grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Westside Holiness Church. Pastor Darrell Meadows will officiate. Burial will follow in Ward's Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory.
