He was educated in Central High School, Philadelphia, 1911; University of Pennsylvania, 1914; and Philadelphia Theological Seminary, 1918.
He received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Muhlenberg College and Doctor of Laws from Uppsala College, East Orange, N.J.
He was ordained by the Ministerium in 1918 in St. John’s Church, Philadelphia, and served the following pastorates, St. Mark’s, Bethlehem, 1918-1920; Trinity, Wildwood, N.J., 1920-1921; Ascension, Philadelphia, 1921-1930.
He served as editor for the parish and Church School Board, 1930-1937; and president of the seminary from 1945 until the time of his death.
He served on the U.C.L.A. Board of Foreign Missions and many important committees.
He was the author of Little Children Come Unto Me, The Study of St. Luke, Studies in First Corinthians, Parish Practice, and many other books and numerous articles.
He entered eternal life on January 20, 1952 at the Lankenau Hospital, after a long illness.
He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Marjorie Morgan Hoh; a son, the Rev. Philip R. Hoh, serving in Stuttgart, Germany with the Lutheran World Federation, a brother, the Rev. Dr Ernest J. Hoh, pastor of Emmanuel Church, Lancaster; and a sister, Miss Frieda Hoh, a missionary in Puerto Rico.
Funeral services were conducted by Dr. E. E. Fischer and the Rev. Warren C Johnson in Nativity Church, Philadelphia, on January 23, 1952 followed by interment in Valley Forge Memorial Cemetery.
