Swedish matriarch. Anna Andersdotter was Mrs. Jan (Johan) Ersson but did not use her husband's last name. He was from the Mor farm and thus his wife, according to the possessive name format of the age and the Dalecarlian area, was simply called Mor Jan's Anna. She had five children, but two sons died in infancy. She was the oldest of the four daughters of Näktergal's Anders Andesson, a large-scale farmer and landowner in the village of Gimsbärke in Amsberg Parish, northwest of Borlänge, Sweden. Her main branch of his family was the smallest, descending until today only through daughter Anna Granberg. Descendants, through Mrs. Granberg's American daughter Anna Granstrom, are in many U. S. Locations, with only a few still in Sweden. A granddaughter of Anna Granstrom's was Mary Anne Douglas. The location of Anna Andersdotter's grave at Amsberg is no longer known, but the grave of her nephew, P. E. Hedman, is the greater family's memorial site as of 1993.
