Lucy was born on September 4, 1939 in Burke County to the late Luther Augustus Elmore and Lennie Belle Farmer Elmore.
She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where she taught in the children's department for many years and was retired from Valdese General Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a former volunteer for Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, and received the Governors Award for volunteer service.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
Survivors include her husband Enoch Johnson of the home; one daughter, Beth Ausley and husband Andrew of Winston-Salem; one son, Eric Johnson and wife Maria of Valdese; four grandchildren, one brother, Tom Elmore of Hickory and one sister, Aileen Isbell of Hickory.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 12, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
