A funeral service was held at Union Baptist Church with Rev. E.S. Sheffield, the clergyman.
She was the widow of Tom Nelson.
Mrs. Ada was small in stature with a very soft voice that you had to strain to hear. She was a hard worker and expert farm hand who continued to work as a field hand late in her years after she moved to the city away from the farm. Mrs. Ada was always busy. She would sweep her yards with a homemade twig brush broom in her long gathered skirts on a regular basis.
