Daughter of Antoine and Emma Delano Furney, she was born in Theresa on May 10, 1905. She attended schools in Theresa and Watertown and lived in Watertown before coming to Rome.
She and Herbert A. Leonard were married July 21, 1945, in Rome. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters: Mrs Morley L. (Ramona) Overrocker – Rome, and Mrs Terrance L. (Leila) Hemming – Oriskany; four sons: Arthur L. Davis and William T. Davis, both of Rome, Herbert E. Davis – Oriskany, and S. Sgt. Owen R. Davis, with the Air Force in Westover, Mass.; five sisters: Mrs Chauncy (Lydia) Patterson – Erie, PA., Mrs Charles (Ethel) Dunn – New Britain, Conn., Mrs William (Hazel) English – Cato, Mrs Archie (Elmira) Taylor – Rome, and Miss Lula Furney – Utica; two brothers: Carl Furney – Lee Center, and Sidney Furney – Utica; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland W. Webster, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
