Barney B. Baumgartner, 65, Minot, died in a Minot hospital. He had been making his home with an uncle in Minot.

Barney was born Aug. 28, 1904, in Foxholm to Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Theresia Gruber) Baumgartner. He lived in Foxholm until 1924, then moved to Bottineau and farmed for three years. He farmed in St. Walburg area of Saskatchewan for 17 years with other members of his family. He moved back to Minot in 1945 after being out west in Oregon for a time.

He was employed as a carpenter with his uncle, Frank Gruber. On July 5, 1961, he married Mrs. Bertha Moore in Minot. She died in November 1968. Barney was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Minot Eagles Lodge.

Surviving him were a brother, Steve of Ryder and a sister, Mrs. Clementine Plunkett of Bismarck.
