Frank G. Rohrer was born October 3rd 1880 on his parents’ farm in Mad River Township, Ohio. (Now named Riverside, Ohio) Frank was the fifth child of seven children born to his parents Christian F. Rohrer & Irene Dell Newcom. Ralph attended a local public school through the eight grade. He went to work for DP&L in the early 1900’s then married Nettie Nell Procuniar on November 23rd 1910. Frank was already working at DP&L prior to his marriage and moonlighted as manager at Stroop Farms locally. Frank was burned seriously while working at Dayton Power & Light Company that disabled him throughout the rest of his life. Ironically their only child a son Ralph Rohrer, born on July 2nd 1914, was killed in 1953 while at work at a young age of 38, leaving a wife six months pregnant & a daughter nine months old. Ralph an electrician was electrocuted while working on a machine at a local company, Master Electric. Frank passed away on June 21st 1940 age 59 and is buried alongside his wife in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. His wife Nettie (Procuniar) Rohrer was a widow for 39 years passing on July 19th 1979 at the age of 95.
