John & Carrie had one child a son in 1906 that they named Robert Baylis. In early 1927 Robert married Batrice Bourne an Ohio girl, they had one child Robert Jr. born in 1928 but they were divorced a year after their son was born. Robert's last address was Leslie, Michigan though his wife and son stayed in Ohio. He also worked for a time at the Waco Aircraft Corp Troy, Ohio as a Research Engineer. As a young man Robert attended Steel High School Dayton, Ohio, and lived on Rustic Road. Robert had several inventions to his credit, among them a mechanical toy airplane. Robert served as a Merchant Marine in WW II & died on June 17, 1942 from drowning in the Caribbean Sea when his ship was torpedoed & sunk by a German sub.
