Lucy McNabb (b. 21 Dec 1842-in Tattnall, GA. d. 15 Feb 1914 in Marion Co., FL. She is the daughter of James Glenn McNabb (1802-1868) and Mary Elizabeth Pittman, of Putnam Co., FL.

Lucy married Jesse Wesley. Allen on 15 Feb 1866, in Putnam Co, FL, when he returned home from CSA service after Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomatox, VA. Jesse lost three of his brothers who were killed in the 1864-1865 Union siege at Petersburg, VA. He & his brother, Zacheus were the only survivors.

A copy of Lucy's application for FL Widow's Pension is filed in the Florida Archives along with JW's # A01131. Jesse Wesley died in Miami in 1910 and is buried in the CSA Veteran's Memorial Circle in the old Miami Cemetery, Miami, Dade Co., FL. (See a photo of his grave and his granddaughter, Mildred). After JW's death Lucy moved in with her single and youngest son, Eugene. She eventually moved to Marion County, Florida and into the home of her daughter, Annie Laurie (Allen) Ross. Lucy died there in 1914 and is buried beside her unmarried daughter, Mildred Pearl Allen in Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, Citrus Co., FL.

Lucy & Jesse are the parents of: James Franklin (b. 1867), Alice Alabama (Stokes) (b. 1870), Lucy Roselia (Ausley), George Purejoy, Wesley Marvin, Anderson Lee, Elbert Austin, Annie Laurie (Ross) (b. 9/3/1875 d. 5/26/1926) & Margaret Lorena (Boyd) (b. 9/3/1975 d. 2/13, 1964) (twins), Mildred Pearl (b. 10/24/1883 d. 08/8/ 1907) and Eugene Bridges, their youngest.

Eugene Bridges Allen (m: Maud Rema Lawton of New Orleans, LA, in Miami, Dade Co, FL. They are buried together in Flagler Memorial Park - Miami-Dade Co., FL. Lucy was grandmother to Eugene & Rema's only child, a daughter: Mildred Lenora Allen (m: Wm B Leonard); Great Grandmother to: Leslie Allen Leonard, Jerald Allen Leonard, Mickie Allen Leonard (Hensler-Norman); GG Grandmother to: Raymond Allen Hensler, Robert Paul Norman and William Franklin Norman, Shannon Darlene Leonard and Shawn Leonard; GGG Grandmother to: Carson Monroe Hensler and Harper Rae Hensler, Everly Marie Norman and Shawn Gregory Leonard.

Lucy, Jesse and both sets of parents moved to FL in c1850 and are recognized as FLORIDA BUILDER AND SETTLERS.

Through her great grandmother, Ruhamah (Doane) Cromartie of Bladen, NC. Lucy (McNabb) Allen is also a direct decendant of Stephen Hopkins, a 1609 Jamestowne resident and 1620 Mayflower Passenger & Mayflower Compact signer.
