William Williams, son of Joseph and Rebecca Williams who are buried at Peter's Creek Cemetery, Pickens Co. SC.
I have not entered Joseph & Rebecca memorials as parents of William as no proof of Rebecca's maiden name or the fact that Joseph's middle name is Washington has ever been found.
Also the Stephen listed as a child of Joseph & Rebecca is doubtful and never been proven.
William served as a Private in Company 4, SC Infantry.
William was wounded 29 August 1861 at the First Battle of Manasses and never recovered. He died of his wounds 18 February 1862.
William married Elizabeth "Betsy" Reid, daughter of Nathaniel and Margaret "Peggy" (Hill) Reid. William and Betsy were the parents of eleven children.
