Entering this world on June 24, 1931, in Rockwood TN, she was the eldest of four children born to the late Earl and Verne (Graves) Alexander.
She was salutatorian of the Rockwood High School class of 1949, where she met the love of her life, John Lawson. In 1953 they moved to Indiana, living in Spiceland and Knightstown before settling in Indianapolis.
She retired from Sears, Lafayette Square in the late 80’s, then worked several years as a building manager at Crestwood Village Apartments before permanently retiring.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Jr., sister Martha, and brother David.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years John Sr,, sons Phillip (Debra), Randell (Teresa), and a sister Mary Kau.
