Mr. James H. Hockman. 89, Bremen, died 2 a m. Wednesday in Lancaster Fairfield Hospital, Lancaster. Born Feb. I0, 1881 in Hocking County be was the son of Abraham and Anna Rittgers Hockman. Survivors include one son, Orla Hockman, Route I, Circleville; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Oatney, Amanda; Mrs William Beelman. Mrs. Mildred Taylor, Columbus; l l grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Franklin Hockman, Columbus. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Snyder Funeral Home, Bremen, with burial in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 Friday.--Circleville Herald, Sept. 17, 1970

His mother, Anna Rittgers Hockman, was first married to William Wolf, who is buried at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the 114th OVI and died March 22, 1863.
