Diane Achleman, 73 of Berne, IN passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, IN. Diane was born on February 27, 1943 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Clarence Bauman and the late Marjorie (Reynolds) Bauman. She was united in marriage to Eugene Achleman on June 30, 1962 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2105.
Diane formerly attended Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene, Berne; she was also a member of what was originally known as the Foster Parent Association of the State of Indiana. Diane was employed by Sell Chiropractic in Bluffton, IN. Diane, along with her husband Eugene, were proud of their time spent being foster parents to many children for 25 years.
Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Dunn of Harford City, IN; daughter, Amanda (Jeff) Minch of Berne, IN; son, Philip (Crystal) Achleman of Decatur, IN; daughter, Kimberly Achleman of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Alan (Susie) Bauman of Berne, IN; brother, Galen Bauman of Bluffton, IN; 7 grandchildren: Ashley Brady, Whitnie Twigg, Jurnee Cooper, Conner Achleman, Blake Beer, Dreyton Achleman, & Tylor Achleman.
Diane was preceded in death by 2 grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Yager - Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, IN with Rev. Roger Bixler officiating. Interment will follow in the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Yager - Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation - Cancer.
