Obituary for Marilyn Flannagan


Clinton-Marilyn (Stirewalt) Flannagan, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Oakdale Rehabilitation Center, on Saturday, March 19, 2016. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Thomas F. Flannagan, and their daughter Nancy Andrews. She is survived by her children, Linda D’Onofrio & husband Michael of Lancaster; Karen Kilcoyne of Clinton; Trisha McNally of Leominster; and Thomas Flannagan of Clinton. She leaves her grandchildren, Jenna D'Onofrio, Noah D’Onofrio & wife Pamela, Lauren & Kelsey Kilcoyne, Kayla & Julie McNally, Jared & Brenton Andrews, James, Timothy, and Kaitlin Flannagan; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is pre-deceased by three brothers, Elliot, Robert, and James Stirewalt.
Marilyn was born in Clinton to the late James & Helen (Smith) Stirewalt. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1946. After graduating, she began employment as a secretary at Wovencraft, where she met her future husband Tom. She later enjoyed a successful career with the Clinton Savings Bank, from where she ultimately retired after 10 years. A woman of great faith, she was a devout member of The First Church of Christ Scientist. Marilyn most enjoyed time spent in the company of her family and will be dearly missed and remembered lovingly as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, & neighbor.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with burial to follow in Reservoir Pines Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 5 until 8PM on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marilyn Flannagan to the Nancy J.
