Chico Record, Monday, December 29, 1902, pg 1 col 1-2: Death of D. Williams. Dave Williams of Cherokee, who has for some time past lived in Quincy, was taken ill in that town and there died of pneumonia. His remains were sent to Oroville via Reno and were taken to Cherokee for interment. The deceased was well known in Cherokee and other parts of Eastern Butte, where he lived for many years. He was a brother of J.D. Williams, the well known miner. He leaves two children, both sons, one aged about fourteen and the other younger. Deceased was a cousin of D.H. Williams, Thomas K. and Dan Williams – Oroville Register.
