Neelam Chandra, age 62, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2016 at 10:49 pm at the Florida Hospial, Orlando, Florida. Her husband, Subhash, was at her bedside during the final moments. She had sustained prolonged hospitalization since January 12th, enduring a struggle with triple bypass heart surgery and slow recovery period due to her chronic end stage dialysis treatment.

Neelam was born on October 21, 1953, in Rahon, India, to Satya and Harbans Chopra. She emigrated from New Delhi, India with her parents and siblings at the age of sixteen. She pursued her high school and college education in New Jersey. Neelam married at the age of 20, and raised three wonderful children. Neelam was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Neelam enjoyed music and movies, spending time with family and friends, and hosting get togethers with her excellent Indian culinary skills. She learned to sing at an early age and loved to share her beautiful voice with people. Neelam always thought of making people happy and was very affectionate to children and friends.

Neelam is survived by her mother, Satya Chopra, husband, Subhash Chandra, brother, Aniel Chopra, sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Jim Pyle, two daughters and their husbands, Sonia and Vijay Rajaji and Sareena and Vince Robles, son, Naveen Chandra, and four grandchildren,Maya, Samir, Lydia, and Simon.
