Guadalupe "Lupe" Ybarra, Sr., age 66, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Winter Haven. Born October 30, 1949 in Bryan, TX, he was a longtime area resident. Mr. Ybarra worked as a diesel mechanic and welder in the construction industry for many years. He was catholic. Lupe was heavily involved in Relay for Life in Bartow and Mulberry. He also was a longtime coach in the Bartow Dixie Youth Baseball and youth football programs, where he was best known as "Coach Grandpa. " He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife Angie R. Ayala Ybarra, his children: Norma Reyes (Elio), Guadalupe "Lupe" Ybarra, Jr., his siblings: Joe Bernal, Della Castilleja, Mary Gonzalez, Lucy Moncivais, Minnie Zarete, Richard Macias, Marcie Menchaca, Laura Schultz, Becky Ocon, Paula Ybarra, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 30th from 6pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 31st at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, 2180 S. Kissingen Ave. in Bartow. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow
