Dollina MaryAnn Humphreys, 89, of Canyon City passed away Monday March 21st at the Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 28th at Driskill Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM.

Dollina was born on January 13, 1927 in Dayville, Oregon to Horace and Mary (MacKay) Stewart. She attended and graduated from Dayville high school in 1945. In 1960 she married Rhys Humphreys in Dayville, Oregon; Rhys passed away in August of 1983. Dollina worked at the John Day Medical Center from 1952 to 1965, was deputy clerk for Dayville School from 1972 to 1990, and also dispatched for the people mover.

She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, sewing, and quilting. She made many quilts that she gave to family and friends. She was always proud of her Scottish heritage, and was fond of listening to Bagpipes. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a Rebekah.

She was the treasurer for the Presbyterian Church for a time, and was honored to play the piano during services there. She was born and raised in Grant County growing up on the Stewart Ranch, which is now the Long Box Ranch. When she and Rhys married she moved to the Humphreys Ranch where they raised sheep.

She is survived by stepdaughters Greta (Bob) Wright of Oregon City, OR., Leta Kersey of Canyon City, OR., stepson Gale (Pat) Humphreys of Troutdale, OR., nieces Cathy (Chris) Struck of Redmond, OR., Jeanie Pauley of Vaughn, WA., 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many more nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rhys Humphreys, brother Dalton Stewart, sister-in-law Becky Stewart, stepson Dale Humphreys, grandson Ronnie Kersey, and her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Care Center through Driskill Memorial Chapel 241 S. Canyon Blvd. John Day, OR 97845.
