"Mrs. Ella B. Funk of 2274 6th St. La Verne, died Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. in Pomona Valley Community Hospital after seven months illness.
Mrs. Funk was born November 5, 1889 in Columbus, Kansas. She came to California in 1923 from Wylie, Colorado and lived in Pomona and other cities before moving to La Verne in 1939. Mrs. Funk took her nurse's training in Denver, Colorado and was a nurse at the Cottage Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, La Verne.
She is survived by a son, Robert B Funk of Montclair; a sister, Mrs. Flora Horner of Pomona; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, La Verne, beside the remains of her husband, the Rev. Jacob Funk, who died in 1936."
