OBITUARY
Nov. 4, 1904 - The Albion Argus
William Barnett died of cancer at his home in Albion Sunday, at the age of 66 years. Funeral was conducted by Rev. George at the home Monday, 9:30 a.m. and the body taken to St Edward for burial. A wife and several children survive him.
CIVIL WAR SERVICE:
Residence Decatur IN;
Enlisted on 8/14/1862 as a Private.
On 8/14/1862 he mustered into "I" Co. IN 89th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 7/19/1865 at Mobile, AL
Served along side his brothers, John, James H., Randolph, Henry, and Thompson. A family story says that brother Randolph was shot in front of William on the battlefield. Brothers, Randolph, and Thompson, did not survive the Civil War.
