Lillian Amos Hutchens, 91, of Spencer, Va, died on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart, Va.
She was born on April 6, 1924 to the late Mary Martin Amos and James C. Amos.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Aubrey Hutchens; daughter, Kathy H. Hamm; three sisters: Ann Steckler, Gracie Parrish, Irene Joyce; five brothers: Elmore Amos, Thomas Amos, Wade Amos, Carl Amos and Emory “Mutt” Amos.
She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and worked as the office manager of Coppers Mill in Critz, Va for seventeen years.
Surviving are one daughter, Vicki H. Bennett of Spencer, Va; one son, Doug “Bubba” Hutchens of Spencer, Va; one sister, Lou Hutchens of Spencer, Va; one brother, Henry “Pete” Amos of Rocky Mount, Va; son-in-law, Charles Hamm; four grandchildren: Brikk Bennett, Gage Bennett, Cristen Hamm, Alan Hamm; one great-grandchild, Mason Bennett; and special loved ones: Kristi Shunkwiler, Aaren Strange and Morgan Barksdale.
The funeral will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Ed Hartman, Elder Jesse Hutchens and Elder LaRay Smith officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services in Stuart and other times at the home.
