Mr. Smith was born in Aiken County, son of the late Arthur and Carrie Hall Smith. He served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Surviving are his wife of fifty nine years, Lois Fulmer Smith; daughters, Elizabeth Ann ("Jimmy" Sammy) Mundy; Wanda Kay (William) Diggs; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Leconia Allison of Whiteplains, MD. He was preceded in death by brothers, Murrell, Thyrill, M.C., Carnell and Jimmy Smith.
