Jane Marie Thede, age 92, of Dixon, IA, died on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Jane was born April 7, 1924 to Albert and Meta (Beckman) Riessen in Walcott, IA. Jane attended Walcott School and Davenport High School. She married Wyatt E. Thede on December 11, 1941 in Kahoka, MO.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA, where in early years she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Walcott American Legion Auxiliary #548 where she served as president and vice president and the QC Times Plus 60 Club. She was talented in floral arranging and helped out at the former Rainbow Flower Shop in Davenport.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1-5 P.M., at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, IA.
Services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. at the Bentley Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Bork, Alan Thede Jr., Gregory Thede, Mark Cutkomp, Jason Boos, John Brockmann, Charles Brockmann, Jim Brockmann and Dave Burmeister.
Interment will take place at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, IA.
Jane is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Wyatt of Dixon, IA and their sons: Alan Thede Sr. and Glen (Debbie) Thede both of Davenport, IA, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter: Patricia Puck, 3 sisters: Alberta Brockmann, Dorothy Brown and Nelda Kroeger and her brother Warren Riessen.
Memorial donations may be made to Dixon Fire Department, Walcott American Legion Auxillary or the American Heart Association in her memory.
