George W. Murphy
CEDARTOWN-George Walter Murphy, 85, of 332 Noyes St., died Thursday in a Polk County hospital after an extended illness.
He was born June 13, 1886, in Floyd County and had lived in Polk County for the past 14 years. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Minerva Ayers, Cedartown; one son, Charlie Murphy, Rome; one brother, Joseph M. Murphy, Adairsville; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ward, Adairsville, and Mrs. Mary Pye, Calhoun; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today at 4 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Gary Buttram and Marlin Wright officiating. Interment was in North View Cemetery.
Lester G. Litesy Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
