Actor. He began his lengthy association with radio locally in New York which led to his being cast as 'Peter Absolute' in the serial "Peter Absolute on the Erie Canal" in 1936. Also in 1936, he began an eighteen year run on the popular children's program "Let's Pretend". In 1937, he joined the players of Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre and was cast in the role of 'Lucius' in the Broadway play "Julius Caesar". This was followed by "The Shoemaker's Holiday" (1938) and the radio productions of "Treasure Island" and "A Christmas Carol". During the 1950s, he began appearing on television in such programs as "Studio One in Hollywood", "The United States Steel Hour" and "Car 54, Where Are You?". Anderson had roles in the films "The Group" (1966), "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), "Zelig" (1983) and "I'm Not Rappaport" (1996). He will perhaps be remembered for lending his voice for the character 'Eustace Bagge' in the animated series "Courage the Cowardly Dog", in addition to providing the voice of 'Lucky' the Leprechaun in the TV commercial series for the cereal "Lucky Charms" which ran for twenty-nine years beginning in 1963.
