Wavie Maxine Ashmore, Born, April 1, 1916, in Belle Plaine, Kansas, and passed away April 2, 2016 after celebrating her 100th Birthday with her family. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Smith Mortuary, Mulvane. Burial will follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery. Following the service, there will be a gathering at Laurie's Kitchen in Mulvane. She is the daughter of C. B. (Byrd) and Gertrude Ashmore. Five sisters and one brother, Floy, Dorawanda, Edith, Mary, Junior and Betty. Maxine married Ralph Edward Truman 1938. She is survived by three sons, Dale, Jerry and Eddie, three grandsons, four granddaughters, one passing before her, one great-great grandson and two great-great granddaughters. Maxine was active in 4-H as a leader for many years judging displays and participating in events as well as a member of Council Hill Christian Church, also worked with EHU, the Mulvane Historical Society, Old Settlers organization the parade and judging floats. She enjoyed writing a column for the Mulvane and Belle Plaine News. Though busy with all these activities and farming, still always took time to visit with anyone that stopped by. She loved Kansas and the farm where Ral and her raised their three boys and numerous grand kids and neighbors. Everyone was always welcome in their home.
