A memorial visitation for Robert ‘Cheeko’ Cheek, 74, Lawrence, will take place from 11 am to 12:30 pm Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Cheeko died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Medicalodges Eudora.
He was born Feb. 27, 1942, in Lawrence, the son of Jack VW and Margaret Lorene Dicker Cheek. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1960, and later served in the United States Air Force. He retired from a career in sales.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Cheek Brazzell, Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Darlene Cheek Harrell, Lawrence, and Barbara Cheek Reynolds and husband Michael, Lawrence; two grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Rob Harrell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs in KC, or Lawrence Humane Society in Lawrence, or to any animal rescue organization.
