Zimri Hogue a/k/a Hoge was 79 years old when he died. He was the oldest of eleven children of John Hogue and Mary Workman of Fayete County, Pennsylvania. He was a carpenter in his early life then became a farmer and managed a 150 acre farm. He married Margaret Brill on March 24, 1848 and they had five daughters: Melissa, Mary, Emeline,Eunice and Rosa.**

His tombstone reads "Dear Parents-Tho we miss you much-We know you rest with God"

There is a road in Shade, Lodi Township called Hogue Hollow Road.
